Re: [orca-list] Orca very chatty after upgrade to Firefox 57

Thanks Peter.

I unticked everything on the preferences page and now things seem a lot better.

Thanks,

Nick

Hello,

Since Firefox 57 there is so called new tab page. Right when you open a new tab or a new window in Firefox it pops up. It contains search entry field, the sites you are visiting frequently, sites you might have visited recently and some Firefox specific headlines. You can customize what this new tab page displays after clicking new tab page preferences button right on that page. If you wish to restore pre Firefox 57 behaviour, you can do it through Menubar -> Edit -> Preferences and set a page of your choice to load at startup. I guess you do know you can also type about:blank in, so it will just start empty.

Greetings

Peter

    Hi all,

I've noticed since moving to Firefox 57 that every time I start
Firefox, Orca announces a lot of stuff being loaded - and not just
    my home page.

Is this Firefox loading more tabs / recent websites in the background?

If so, any idea how to turn it off? This is a machine with limited
resources and I want Firefox to just load my home page and not go
off and start loading lots of other pages it thinks I might want!

    Thanks,

    Nick
