yes.
though i still think thats no good thing either.
other operating systems can work without a screen as well without much fuss.
according to the wayland people this might be needed to be adressed to
the gnome devs.
they make the wayland adapter which can say if its possible to run
screenless or not.

If you configure the dummy driver in Xorg, it should be possible for you to
disconnect the screen later. I don't know whether or how Wayland handles this,
so if you're using a Wayland-based distribution, more research will be needed.
