Yea the current  release is 1.06.
I know it could be improved  but this is why i work heavy on fenrir 2.0
It will have
- multiprocessed event Architektur  (less CPU load but more Performance )
-braille support via brltty 
- PTY driver to support  Terminal emulators
- autoencoding  for different lamguages and encodings
- lot of bugfixing
- ability to share clipboard  with desktop
- multolanguage

It will still need some time to finish all this tasks but i m working on :).

I always  happy for help in any any way.

Last I heard, however, it was still in Beta stage. But yes, that's an option.
