Thanks, I'll suggest that to him.

I'd be curious to know why they had bad experiences with Thunderbird in
Windows. I wonder if it's a Thunderbird issue or if it goes back to the
fact that it isn't very Outlook Express like.

I don't have another suggestion. They could try Evolution, but I'm not
sure what the state of Evolution accessibility is right now, and that
will be even less like Outlook Express then Thunderbird. They could try
Sea Monkey, but that interface will look a lot like Thunderbird's. Other
than that, I'm only aware of command line options like Alpine and Mutt.

Finally, although Thunderbird's interface is pretty consistent across
platforms, I do like it much more in Linux with Orca than I do on
Windows with either JAWS or NVDA. You might want to go ahead and see if
they want to give Thunderbird another chance.

Hi All,
Thanks all for recommending Mate, as it seems very user friendly so far.
The guy I got started on it with wanted to set up his eMail, but he has
had bad experiences in Windows using Thunderbird, and that seems to be
the default eMail client that comes with Mate, so I thought that I would
teach him how to use apt-get and install another eMail program, so I am
wondering what most folks is easiest to use?
He did like Outlook Express in Windows.
Also, on another note, he uses System Access on Windows, but he did not
think that there is a program yet for Linux, and SA To Go does not work
in FireFox.
Does anyone know if there is a work-around for that program in Linux?
Wine would be the only thing I can think of, but that is a while off for
him to get to that point.
Thanks.
