Re: [orca-list] Filtering html elements

So I just took a look at this content. If you look at the page source,
you will see that the content authors did the following:

1. Use a header with an explicit ARIA role of banner (a landmark)
2. Put the bulk of its content in a nav element (which is exposed to
Orca as if it were an ARIA role navigation (a landmark)
3. Put the button in question inside an unordered list

It is really hard for Orca to be able to distinguish unfortunate markup
from good markup. And if you have enabled presentation of landmarks and
lists, it's even harder for Orca to distinguish if that's really what
you want in any particular situation.

So while I can sympathize with your "ouch!", I don't see trying to add a
fix to Orca to filter this out. I think Orca is doing the right thing
given the markup and what I assume your settings are.

On my to-do list still is to enable support for site-specific settings.
Once that is in place, you will be able to disable presentation of
context on a per-site basis.

Hi again,

Hope you wouldn't be sick and tired with my mails. :-)

Is it planed to implement a filter to select which html elements to
annunce? I think preferences like text attributes list. I found now
browssing some web pages is too much verbose. For instance:
https://www.blablacar.fr/
1) Press ctrl+home.
2) Press down arrow three time.
It says: "leaving list, leaving navigation, leaving banner"! Ouch!
For me, it is useless especially when tabing into the page with tab. For
instance, I don't care to hear "list with 3 items" when I reach on the
button "connexion" with tab. It gets slower my navigation.
