Hi Storme,
Just like you I too am a hard core free software supporter and do
like diaspora and gnusocial.
But some times you have to maintain accounts on fb and twitter
because there is a huge population already there and things like
pettitions and the stuff needs huge support special from my
Country where I am fighting for digital rights.
So the campaign is running in India and we hardly have any one on
GNUSocial.
I am surely going to open one account there as well.
happy hacking.

Howdy,
Instead of using Twitter, why not create a GNU Social account. Its
webface is 100% accessible, no need for mobile versions or
anything, and you aren't limited by that stupid 140 character
limit. There are several instances you can choose from, or if you
have a server, you can install your own version. Instances are
federated, meaning no matter which one you choose, anyone from any
other instance can still follow you and see what you post. It's
nearly like giving a twitter name too, you just have to tack on
the domain like an email address. For example, I am
@storm social stormdragon tk.
A couple options you could try are

Dear all,
I had used twitter more than few months back and I did not quite
find it accessible.
I wish to know which GUI client I can right away use for
tweeting and reading replies to my tweets and also some
additional stuff?
Secondly, is there accessible version of m.twitter.com or some
similar mobile addition?
I am campaigning for exclusive use of free software in the
government run schools for the blind and also rural schools in
India.
The media has tarted to cover my campaign and I now would need
twitter for publicity.
So kindly share your experience with twitter.
happy hacking.
