The problem with such an idea for orca would be that depending on the distro/release of said distro one uses
the available orca would vary...
I have not heard of anything like the accessibility ppa for any distro other than Ubuntu. Are there any such
PPAs for Fedora, Suese, Debian or any
other distro(s)?
Another thing that is different is that from my experience orca master might be on average a bit more likely
to be acceptable for use on a work machine
than NVDA snapshots. Note I say might be, and also take in to account that I've not used NVDA snapshots for
years and their bugginess or lack there of
could have changed since then. I guess that doesn't matter at all as in both cases NVDA snapshots and Orca
master builds update very often. I don't
remember if NVDA snapshots were normallyl updated once a day, or whenever a major change was committed, and
the whole snapshot system may well have
changed since I was using NVDA enough to have kept up with its progress on a regular basis.
One could script checks on the version offered by the repositories enabled on a given system, but again, this
would have to be set up differentlly
depending on the package management system used on ones distro.
