Hi,
Yes the problem was more noticeable when Orca was reading short blocks
of text.
However it didn't seem to be linked to suspend or changes in power
source - sometimes it would happen right after power up at the logon
screen, other times it would take half an hour before you hit the problem.
When you killed speech-dispatcher, sometimes the problem would come back
straight away, other times it would be fine for a while.
I suspect any distro that ships Pulseaudio 4.0 would be affected if the
bug does indeed lie with Pulseaudio.
As for the testing repo, I seem to remember it only installed around
half a dozen Pulseaudio packages, so it should be easy enough to roll
back, though I haven't tried it.
Regards,
Nick

Did it mostly if not exclusively happen when you came back from a suspended state? Perhaps switching between
battery and ac power effected by speech as
well sometimes.
Did the upgrade from the testing repo effect many packages, i.e. are there many dependencies effected making
it complicated to roll back to standard
release packages?
BTW, I've experienced similar issues on at least one other distro, and I am trying to determine if the
problems you had are what I have experienced.
Thanks.
