Re: [orca-list] mate gtk3: caja's icon view, as well as appearance grid view are inaccessible to orca

Hi,

It's a reported bug, indeed:
https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja/issues/590

Any help would be appreciated. MATE maintainer hopes to fix with
Nautilus indeed, but doesn't know really the origin of this. If someone
can provide a way to debug, it'd be very nice. This bug makes me worry.
And if test is possible, still better.

Regards,

hi all
If anyone is running a linux distribution where mate's gtk3 port is
available, first install that. You'll immediately notice that the
desktop icons no longer read. This also happens with the file manager,
which uses the same icon view code.

I am almost sure this is a caja bug, as I suspect there is custom code
involved to make such things accessible, and things have changed between GTK
2 and 3. Nautilus in GNOME would be a good reference point as to what needs
fixing up.
