OK, everyone likes this idea but me, just do not see the point.
Let me make my case one more time.
Use location to put each progress bar in it's own
place. You have one, it is centered, add a wnd one, and the first onemoves to the right speaker, the new one
is in the left, a third, and the wnd one
moves to middle, and the new one as before is added on the left, could work for up to four I think before
they'd become too hard to distinguish.
This would give me more useful information instead of just reinforcing the info I already have.

hay there,
in essence you are saying,
when beeping on left speaker, = 0%, and when it is completely on the
write hand side of the speakers it =100%?
sounds like a good plan!
could the beeps be louder?
or a option to make the beep volume louder or quiter be added?
I can see it as a usefull option
say you are in lesson, and you have your orca voice volume lo,
you would hear the beeps louder. ware as if you were able to change
the volume of the beeps independantly of orca's voice would be ausom
:)
thanks,

hi
This would be a fantastic idea. I'd love to see something like this in
orca by default.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I´m currently working on some kind of 3D audio game via HRTF (openAL
is realy cool stuff).
While working with all that I had some kind of idea for presenting the
current state of progress bars:
what if:
we not only change the frequence but also the panning (different
loudness for left/right speaker)?
so the tone gets higher for indicate the state but the tone is also
starting on the left (0%) speaker (the right speaker is silent) and
will raise to normal (50%) (both speakers are equal loude) and will
end with only the right speaker is active (100%).
so its not only a sound that give you a guess how much percent you
have. you also know precise how "far the end of the progress is away".
maybe it also could be configurable?
something like
Enable Progressbar beeps (True/False)
Panning Progressbar Beeps (True/False)
Frequence Progress Beeps (True/False)
what do you think about? good idea or total trash...?
