It always depends on your specific requirements. If you need something
that does not have its own proprietary network and lots of other people
use it, then there is no replacement for Skype.
If you can accept proprietary protocols as long as there are a lot of
people using the network, then you can try WhatsAppp on the web:
https://web.whatsapp.com/
It is inaccessible in its original form, but can be made accessible with
this:
https://F123Access.com/intro_en
