Hi,
+1 with space key related.
Me oldest time only following check boxes checked and hear the space key
(for example the Orca 3.18.2 version):
checked Enable key echo
checked Enable alphanumeric and punctuation keys
Other checkboxes me unchecked.
So, the solutions:
1. Add a separate space key related check box if this is need and more
users would like this customization,
2. Simple put the space key to the alphabetic character group. If this
is happening, not possible customize to Orca says or not says the space
key when happening a space key press, both the typing and when happening
an action a widget.
Have a more complicated solution, I don't no technical this is possible
or not:
This is a difficulter thing, because space key is fit both the
alphabetic group and action group, because if happening typing, space
key put the space character a text view widget, but space key do an
action if activating a button, check or uncheck a check box, scroll down
or close a combo box, select a list item with default unselected, etc.
If activating an action the space key, not sure need hearing the space
word, for examplewhen check or uncheck a check box a dialog.
This is fasting little the widget operations, but how can possible
filtering Orca level this with various toolkits (GTK, Gecko, Webkit, etc)?
Compare the difference when Orca 3.18.2 and master branch version
checking a check box or scrolling down a combo box if not checked the
enable action keys check box.
If Orca master branch version running, more faster the widget operation
result announcement, because not need wayting the space key announcement
before Orca announce the changed information.
