[orca-list] orca sluggish

When I use applications like Thunderbird for example when scrolling 
messages, Orca stops speaking and keystrokes seem to be not acted on for 
a long time and it ends up with speech having to catch up with previous 
actions which is why speech seems to be so slow.
This happens with viewing and writing email and I seem to have a similar 
kind of lag with Gpodder as well.
I am just running the latest Ubuntu LTS with the latest Orca.
I barely have multiple applications running and I have 8 gig RAM on my 
Toshiba laptop so it is puzzling as to why my system hangs in this way.
