[orca-list] accessing Thunderbird has become very slow, orca hangs

Dear all,
I have the latest master Orca and this is what happens.
Start Thunderbird.
Go to any folder you may have made.
Orca is reading list of emails fine after pressing tab on the selected 
folder (such as Inbox, Sent etc).
Now choose a folder which has more than 2000 or so emails.
Orca gets completely stuck.
Now restart Orca, (some times I have to do orca --replace on the terminal).
This time around Orca will read the list.
Now come back to any other folder such as Inbox.
Open an email and press ctrl + r to reply.
Orca will respond very late, almost till the point that you feel the 
need to restart again.
Once this happens and you get to compose mesage, every thing works very 
fast untill you access a list with a lot of emails.
Again restart Orca and things are fine.
This never happened before.
