Re: [orca-list] orca changelogs

Hello,

I think this might be an overkill for a person just wishing to look into this occassionally without building orca, contributing to it or doing something else with cloned git repository. To see the git log you can just look into it online at: https://git.gnome.org/browse/orca/log/

Greetings

hi
Orca has transitioned to a new system called git. It's a vcs, or
version control system and automatically generates changelogs. To
check out orca, first install git, then execute the following command:
git clone git://git.gnome.org/orca.git. Let it complete, than change
into the orca folder with cd orca. To get a log of changes, type git
log. You can type a hyphen followed by a number to view only the most
recent changes, like this. git log -10. That will print the last 10
changes to orca on screen. If you want to view them in a file, pipe it
to a text file like this. git log -10 > changes.txt. Then open it in
your favorite editor. Gedit changes.txt. You can do a lot more with
git but that's what you asked for. If you feel like reading more on
git, you can either search on the web for documentation or view the
git manual page with man git. I'd definitely recommend piping that to
a file to look at, it's probably very long and probably somewhat geekish
.
