Trisquel 7, also a development version, is based on Ubuntu Trusty, and 
this build works fine!  Something based on Ubuntu Precise may have 
issues, though.  Your mileage may vary.  In addition to the packages 
suggested by Jose, I added the build-essential group.  Maybe that's 
over-kill, but I have room;  LOL.
