Re: [orca-list] Is Orca support plug-in architecture ?

Hello,
Sorry for strong arguments. Using NVDA trac community site is similar to using gnome bugzilla and gnome wiki pages.
So we do already have such resources available for the orca community it is just serverd by another applications and tools.
Git hosting, email list hosting, bug tracker maintenance, community wiki pages and possibly even  more is available to orca users and developers in exchange to being a part of gnome.
I don't think recreating this community resources structure with different tools would significantly popularize orca.

Greetings

Peter

One thing you must understand is this:

Even if the plugin support feature you describe is added to Orca, it will never be possible for Orca to use NVDA’s plugins.  As a user of both screen readers, I can tell you that I would be happy to see that kind of feature in Orca with an accompanying community site where such plugins can be stored and then downloaded by people interested in using them.  I don’t understand why Orca doesn’t have its own project website.  The Trac platform has been used to very good effect by the NVDA team.  They have a place for milestones, different downloads of different versions, forums and a plugin download area.  If you guys have never been on it, it’s worth checking out:

My two cents,

so Luke , for adding new feature in orca we have to modify or write applications script , so for that purpose , it will be very easy that we make plugins of that feature and install in orca if orca provides plugin architecture . so and we can also use plugin of NVDA in orca if possible . it will enhanced orca performance. and for new developer/contributor they will make only plugins so no need to modify application script .

Dhairyashil

Ok, lets look at this another way. What functionality would you like in Orca that NVDA has?
