I hope we'll be able to access Skype with future versions of Ubuntu.
If it's an Orca issue, I hope the problem can be solved.

You will want to make sure your trolltech.conf has been generated properly.
TO do that:

Remove the existing one.

From a shell prompt run: QT_ACCESSIBILITY=1 skype

if you're good at that point, wonderful. If not, reboot

And then save your config file off to the side against future need.
