Hello all, and particularly Joanie.
After all the discussion and the hard work you have put in,
we have the state of the art accessibility with first class navigation
experience in Orca with Firefox/
I streightly away realize the difference in performance and many other
bugs gone.
Now my question.
This entire discussion and all the hard work started with a discussion
on the issue of performance.
Every time we press a key and navigate in a web page, Orca had to do a
lot of judging as to what it should do.
If it is a text box or other entry field or form element like radio
button, it will behave differently.
if on links or heading some other behaviour.
Now I see that we can tell orca not to do stuff on it's own if user so
prefers.
So what is the point when orca still keeps on adjusting from focus mode
to browsing mode on its own?
I have tryed to uncheck the chek box which automatically switches to
focus mode during caret browsing mode, yet it does the same when I do
tab and shift + tab.
Further more, does disabling control carrot navigation (first check box
) improve performance any further? or is it just to let Orca not take
control of the firefox carrot?
happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
