Thanks Alex, I just saw your message. I will give that a try.
Thanks,

Hi,
I saw quite a few postings giving instructions on how to get this going last month and in August. You might
want to go to the list's archives at live.gnome.org and do a search. You are bound to find what you need.
I think it was Burt Henry and Kyle who wrote these up. From what I recall, you have to copy and rename a
file that Orca uses to get Gnome talking but I don't remember what file it is or even where it is located in
the Orca directory.
Good luck,
Alex M

Hey all, has anyone gotten orca to work with Mate successfully? I installed the mate-desktop-environment
package, and whenever I launch orca while in the mate session, it says screen reader on but then silence. I
am running ubuntu 14.10, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Guy
