Re: [orca-list] Trisquel - Happy with Orca, but without non free packages

Actually, I didn't have understood the Trisquel spirit. Yes, what I
really want is the old interface, with the menu activated with alt+F1,
with the down pannel and multiple desktop support.

When I installed the standard Ubuntu, I received Unity interface. I
know I can install Gnome-Shell, but it's not the same.

Trisquel 7 seemed to be faster than Ubuntu 14.04, but I don't know if
the reason is Orca. Perhaps, Orca 3.12 has a performance better than
3.10 and this is the reason of the best speed. but the fact is, even
if I use Ubuntu 14.04 with Gnome-Shell, not with Unity, I didn't have
so good performance.

From some time to now, I have been thinking to change my distro.
Archlinux is very difficult to install. I tried also to install
Fedora, but the installer kept silent, even after activating Orca.

The important is: I thought to change from the standard Ubuntu, becose
I had lots of problems. but perhaps Trisquel is not the best option.

You have mentioned Ubuntu Mate. This is a variant of the standard Ubuntu?

What's the point of using Trisquel if you're going to use non-free
packages? There's no technical or mechanical process blocking you, but
Trisquel is all about 'running free'. If you want to do otherwise, just
run Ubuntu (Mate, if you like the old-style interface).
