Confirmed here. I also notice that when links are fairly close together,
sometimes the link after the current link is read first. An example
would be

a link, b link, and c link

Is many times read in continuous mode as something like

b link, a link, a link, b link, and c link, c link

I especially notice this in blog posts that embed links to other
articles, as well as wikipedia and other wiki pages, which tend to
hyperlink words that point to related pages or further instructions.
