What's the problem with Skype?

I have had pulse problems, actually if I use GNOME Speech with pulse,
it always truncates words; another disadvantage of GNOME Speech i had
forgotten (I always remove pulseaudio anyway). If you use pure ALSA,
you can do things like use Orca on a different output sound device.
For instance, I frequently connect my headphones to my TV and set up
Orca to use the HDMI connection as output device, and I could be
playing music or youtube videos through normal speakers. at the same
time.

I know I should upgrade, but I've encountered so much problems which
make me to go back; including I've not found an accessible alt tab
switcher, compiz's eZoom plugin doesn't work when the mouse isn't
under focused window and Rhythmbox shortcut keys don't work anymore.
