Re: [orca-list] restarting desktop

Try these commands as the situation dictates:

Sudo /etc/init.d/gdm3 stop
Sudo /etc/init.d/gdm3 start
Sudo /etc/init.d/gdm3 restart

Alternatively, you might try:

Sudo service gdm3 stop
Sudo service gdm3 start
Sudo service gdm3 restart

Any idea why control alt backspace doesn't work for you? That's traditionally been the hotkey to log you out
of x and start you at the login prompt. The side effect, if you care, is that it will restart it in a new
tty. If your x session was in tty7, it'll be in tty8 when you do a control alt backspace.

Subject: [orca-list] restarting desktop

Hi,
I found the message I saved.
The command is:
sudo restart gdm
Maybe this version of Zorin does not use the Gnome desktop, but it did like the gdm argument.
Does anyone know how to either log back in successfully in a live session of Zorin, or how to restart its
desktop?
Thanks.
Glenn
