Re: [orca-list] Ubuntu 13.10 and accessibility of unity

Use Gnome Shell. Don't use Unity.

sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

Or, if you want the whole gnome experience:

sudo apt-get install gnome

Subject: [orca-list] Ubuntu 13.10 and accessibility of unity

Hi list, few minutes ago i booted up the latest Ubuntu 13.10 to find out how
it looks with accessibility of it, and i have still the same problems as i
have had with version 13.04.

1. Switching between windows by pressing alt + tab - orca indicates onli
switcing toolbar, but not the titles of windows i switch between.

2. Inaccessible session manager - when i press switch of button on my
machine or choose shutdown item from the system menu, orca announces session
manager, but nothing else, so i don't know which button is focused, how the
dialogue looks like, etc.

These problems i have seen on the first watch, maybee there are more known
accessibility issues, my question is whether anyone works on these issues
and when the unity will be accessible.
Or are there any tips and tricks which makes the environment fully
accessible?
My solution is to use gnome-fallback, i have used it in 13.04 and it works
quite well, but unity was accessible in earlier version 12.04 where i used
to work with it and it was quite comfortable, so i would prefer using of
this modern environment, than the older gnome one.
Thanks for your answers, enjoy the weekend and good bye.
