I listen to my phone's Espeak at 500 words per minute, and would like my
computer to match.
I tried 250, that seems just a little off.
Do I need to set the number higher?
If so, by how much?

I'm trying to get Espeak with Speech Dispatcher and Orca to speak
faster.
Another way to make eSpeak speak faster is to add a "speed" command in
the eSpeak voice file (eg. espeak-data/voices/en-us ) or a voice
variant file. The value is a percentage multiplier.
For example, adding the line:
speed 150
will increase eSpeak's speaking speed by 50%.
