Hi Rusty,
Yes, you can successfully set up a duel boot system with speech.
You'll have to use the Windows 7 partition manager to create some
space for Ubuntu or Sonar Linux, but once that is done just boot from
your Linux CD, press control+s when the CD stops, and use Orca to
follow the installation prompts. Once installed you can boot into your
freshly installed Linux system, and edit your Grub configuration to
have it beep when the boot prompt comes up as well as set the timeout
to say 30 seconds and so on. I know this is a quick overview of the
steps involved, but its not complicated.
Cheers!

Hi folks,
I'm thinking of adding a flavor of linux to a freshly restored
computer which already has an install of win7 on it. Is it realistic
to think that i could install sonar or ubuntu 12.4 or the like
alongside win7 and choose, at startup, which I want to boot in to? I
recognize there will probably be no speech at the bootloader screen,
but will I hear anything, or will the scrollbar be wrapping so I may
not know which choice I make?
thanks!
Rusty
