Hello José!
That was one of my first ideas and I tried it later on. I tried starting gdm
from systemd, starting X with startx and xinit, tried to put gdm in xinitrc.
Nothing going. It's the Xserver, that is the problem. Since that is the basic
part of most Linux desktop environments including GNOME, it doesn't matter
when I start it. Well meant, but hopeless, until I get round to fixing the
underlying configuration problem or hardware incompatibility. In that point
Arch is really very slim. I don't say anything against its documentation,
effort and basic environment. But for a task like that, it is very comfortable
to have a few higher level tools to support the unsuspecting driver. :-)
Kind regards
Julien
