  My xinitrc is empty. At least the one in any home directory. the system wide 
one reads:
#exec xterm -geometry 80x66+0+0 -name login
  but it seems, that this is all to no avail, since the keyboard is blocked or 
gone or simply inaccessible. Not a single, stinking helpful or even obscure or 
arcane key combination to at least shutdown works. What a pitty.
