Is it possible for you to boot your system via USB? You could download
Sonar LXDE edition (experimental) and use a tool similar to UNetBootIn
to copy the iso to a thumb drive. Then you will be able to boot the
thumb drive and try this version of Sonar, and if it works for you,
install it on your hard drive. There isn't a Sonar version with XFCE at
this time, but the LXDE version should be sufficiently adapted for
accessibility to get you working in a less resource-intensive
environment. Hope this helps.
