Re: [orca-list] A couple of questions

Hello,

Depending on what version of Gnome you are running, this isn't completely true. Some versions, one has to reset the Ctl + Alt +d key to go to desktop. From the archlinux gnome wiki for example:

"Show Desktop" keyboard shortcut does not work

GNOME developers treated the corresponding binding as bug (see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643609) due to Minimization being deprecated. To show the desktop again assign ALT+STRG+D to the following setting:

System Settings --> Keyboard --> Shortcuts --> Navigation --> Hide all normal windows.

HTH and there are other work arounds, for example I have no key sequence for showing the desktop like Ctl + Alt +d, but instead use the Ctl + Alt + tab sequence that cycles through top bar, desktop, and so on. Might help if you let us knowwhat version of Gnome, and what distro they're running.

With orca, alt+space+n first to minimize orca and tabbing around after

Hi,

In Gnome 3, how do you get to your desktop? Someone was trying to customize
their Orca preferences and you can only do that from the desktop. Also, can
you still build Orca like you used to? If so, what's the proper way to do
so?

Thanks,

Portia.

We are running Ubunto Gnome 13.04.
