Hi Alex,
A kickstart file is simply a script that automates the Fedora
installation based on settings or selections contained in the
kickstart file. Usually, when you install Fedora for the first time it
will create a kickstart file containing the settings and packages you
selected during install, and places it in your /root directory for
future installations. Back before I switched to Ubuntu I use to use
kickstart files all the time to install Fedora as it was the quickest
and easiest method for installing Fedora on a system.
Cheers!

Hmm ... Thanks for the answer. I was thinking of the live image method. I
don't know what a kick start file is and I am not currently running any
version of Fedora. I wanted to try it out on a virtual machine. Debian
and
Ubuntu have spoiled me completely. I want to be able to pop a CD in the
drive, hit a key or a key combination, hear e-speak begin to yammer at me
and then just be able to carry on with the installation much as a sighted
person would if handed the CD to try out. Pity that's not possible.
