Re: [orca-list] help with fedora 19 speech at login window

Can Fedora 19 currently be installed without sighted assistance?

Well, that depends on your parameters, including comfort level with
advanced skills.

If you can write (or correctly edit) a kick start file, the answer is
"yes, it can."

If you have a working Fedora 18, the answer is "yes, it can. Use 'yum
distro-upgrade.'" This is the path I took last week.

People on the Orca list have previously reported success using the Live
Fedora image. I have no direct success with that myself, unfortunately.

I can tell you that work is in progress to revive text-based
installations. I will report on this when I have more definite answers.

It appears speech in Fedora 19's GDM login is broken. If you restart
speech-dispatcher, speech appears, but you must first kill the pid launched
by GDM.

I expect to file a bug with Redhat on this later today.
