Cool. I will run this command tonight on my Fedora installation and report
findings. I have been wanting a talking gdm on there and haven't gotten
one. Is there a gsettings command for me to enable it in case it hasn't
been enabled when I enabled screen reader accessibility on the desktop?
Thanks.

Finally, Fedora is updating Speech-Dispatcher to 0.8-3. You can get it now
with a command like:
sudo yum --enablerepo=*test* update speech-dispatcher
It looks like some of the bugs against Fedora speech-dispatcher reported
here (and to Fedora Bugzilla) over the past few months may be getting fixed
via this upgrade. Among other things, it seems that speech in GDM may now be
OK.
