Hello list,
here is how to set up xfce and Orca.
You will need sighted help for these first few steps.
First you must be using xfce 4.10
Then you will have to install these packages sudo apt-get install gnome-orca
libgail-common nautilus
Now you will have to check the accessibility box in the settings manager.
After this you will have to open this file in your favorite text editor
~/.bashrc
Go the the end of the file and enter this
GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge
Save this file now.
Now restart and log back in and you will have a pretty accessible xfce
desktop.
The only other thing that is a problem is the panel but that isn't a show
stopper.
