Re: [orca-list] New skype 4.1.0.20 version experiences with Ubuntu 12.04

Hi Attila,
Many thanks for sharing this. I also got the update of Skype and did not know what to do when starting it and Orca only says Filler. But starting in the terminal does the job. Many thanks!

Subject: [orca-list] New skype 4.1.0.20 version experiences with Ubuntu 12.04

Hy,

This day my Ubuntu 12.04 system upgraded with Skype from 4.0.8 version to 4.1.0.20 version, but the proposed repository awailable my system. When the upgrade is happened, the old installed skype package are removed my system, and a new skype-bin package are installed. Ubuntu partner repository now following version awailable, but only possible the proposed repository: 4.1.0.20-0ubuntu0.11.10.1
Changelog says following, this is a very fast upgrade:
"skype (4.1.0.20-0ubuntu0.11.10.1) oneiric; urgency=low

* New upstream release, bumping skype-bin replaces/breaks. LP: #1079348.
  * Add build-dependency on libqtwebkit-dev.
  * Mark library build-dependencies as i386-only.

Hopefuly only my system I have following experience:
1. Login screen is total inaccessible my machine. I hear only Orca screen reader with a "filler ctrl+Q" message. When I moving between dialogue widgets with TAB and SHIFT+TAB key combinations, actual vidgets are Orca not spokening. I only possible to log in the new version if I using following command into terminal:
echo "skype_username skype_password" |skype --pipelogin
The prewious version the login dialog are wonderful accessible, but now, only screen reader use graphical way impossible to log in. Hopefuly other people not have same experiences, but if want keeping the 4.0.8 version, please hold the skype package before upgrade and careful!

Attila
