I suppose this confirms that I'm definitely not in the target audience for TB
then.

For TB users on the list, it might be worth searching around for an extension
that will deal with the address book updating automatically, as in Emacs BBDB.

I would also suggest submitting a bug report about the address book if there
isn't a keyboard command in TB to perform the data insertion.
