Re: [orca-list] Problems with Orca and pidgin...seems to be an at-spi2-core issue

HI,
I got the same problem with pidgin.
I logout and log back in and subsequently restart Orca.
After that all works well.
Happy hackking.

Tohmas, your observations re: Pidgin agree wit mine. I had given up on Empathy a while ago, but wasn't sure whether the accessibility issues with it had been fixed. Appears not. I use Pidgin, in Trisquel, for facebook chat, irc, and instant messaging. The twitter plugin works well, too, but I prefer another twitter client.

What of Thunderbird access? Since my distro pushed T-bird to 11, it is no longer useful. Am glad Alpine is still around!

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Well, the last time I looked at Empathy it wasn't very accessible at all. Pigeon has by far been the most accessible chat client out there. At least in terms of graphical chat clients. There are still text based alternatives, but I hope access with Pigeon gets fixed as its really better than anything else I've tried.

Cheers!

Hi,

How' accessibility with Empathy? Maybe it's better than Pidgin, these days? For quite while, now, Ubuntu has put Empathy as the default messenger, which I've removed in my Ubuntu exploration.

Cheers,

Dave
