Re: [orca-list] Wine apps in Orca?

While some games do run without many issues under Wine, most either don't at
all or no longer do in the latest Wine versions. In my opinion, which is
probably shared by many people, Linux seriously needs more games in general,
and more audio games specifically. The problem I am seeing is that many
application developers feel that Wine is somehow a viable option, and
therefore don't feel that an application needs to run natively on Linux.

If you want to get into free software / open-source audio game development, I
am sure Linux distributors would be interested in including your work in their
distributions. There are games for Linux, but not audio ones as far as I know.

I don't play games - my priorities are elsewhere. However, I have a CD of the
Infocom collection, which I bought ten years ago when it was still available.
Those games can be played perfectly well under Linux, because they're
implemented in a virtual machine, and interpreters are readily available for
many operating systems, including Linux. I haven't had much time for them but
at least I have the CD.
