Hi Jose,
Then should I stick to gnome 3 shell instead of unity 2d?
I also wish to ask if accessibility work is mostly happening on unity 2d
as far as Ubuntu 12.04 goes?
happy hacking.

I have a few questions.
Are there new keyboard shortcuts I must learn.
When installed with the blind profile, ubuntu is configured to use the
unity 2d interface. That interface is completely different than the
interface used in ubuntu 10.10.
Now, the f10 key is your friend. Many things can be done pressing the
f10 key and looking in the menus. To be honest, I didn't like unity 2d.
Be prepared to the differences.
and secondly what new features I can expect with respect to Orca?
Unless I am wrong there are no new features in orca. However I can
tell that the stability and the performance were enhanced a lot. I am
using for about 20 days without crashes and without need to restart
orca. There are some pages in firefox that stop orca but as soon as
kill firefox, orca continues working.
There are some menus that are not read correctly by orca but I think
that orca is not the guilty.
Happy hacking.

Hi,
I can not talk about vinux because I don't use it.
Actually I am running ubuntu 11.10 and the results in general are good.
Instead of use orca 3.3.4, I suggest latest orca from master because a
serious problem with TB were fixed and the fix is not present in 3.3.4.

Hello all,
I wish to try out either Ubuntu 11.04 (vinux 3.2) or ubuntu 11.10 for
time being on a netbook with 2 gb ddr3 ram.
which one should I choose?
if I decide to go with 11.04 or the respective vinux version based on
it? what should I change to make it work with the latest version of
orca?
I just got the source for orca 3.3.4 and the updates seem to be really
great.
However There is no x desktop version so I guess I will have to make a
shift.
Will I get all the enhancements for the Unity 2d desktop?
Should I stick to gnome 3 shell given the latest version of orca?
I am still confused on which direction to go for daily use.
I am a free software user and not touched windows for last 4 or so
years.
So I won't mind putting up with some little problems here and there.
Happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
