Re: [orca-list] problems reading message in TB

Jose,

That's what I do. It gets me by. /smile/ One of these days, when I catch up with all my e-mail for long enough, I plan to get switched to a different client...

Still, starting Orca Preferences for Thunderbird and then just pressing Okay does seem to do the trick.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10, Unity 2D and TB 8.0, if that is useful for anyone.

Hi,
What happens if you activate the preferences of orca and then click in
the ok button without make changes?
This must be done when the message is opened.

Must be something in the email that triggers it. I got through 2 emails

Hi,
I got the same results using TB 8, 9 and 10 beta.

I tried configure TB to open message in a new message window, an
existing message window and a new tab, but with no lucky.
Also I try to use the message pane.
In all cases the results are the same, sometimes I can not scrool in
the message using up and down arrow.
Thanks.

I am using Thunderbird 8 on Ubuntu 11.10. I see this problem, but it
does not alway soccur.

I use the preview pane, and when I (from the list of messages) press
F6,
sometimes the preview pane is not accessed. I used magnification to
look
at it, and it absolutely does not scroll. The problem is that it does
not occur all of the time on my system.

I also notice that (at random times) Orca does not read the contents of
the body section when replying to a message.

Strange...

I am going to try to see if I can help see what's going on here. The
problem is that all of this happens randomly for me. Sometimes it
works,
and sometimes it does not.

I don't recall ever seeing this problem myself. I'm using TB 3.1.16
with
Orca 3.1.9-xdesktop on Vinux 3.2.1/Ubuntu 11.04 and TB 8.0 with Orca
3.2.1 on Ubuntu 11.10. I use the preview pane as opposed to opening
up a
new tab or a new window for each message. Could this be a
difference? It
may also be that I haven't used TB 8.0 enough to have noticed this
problem.

This is interesting; we usually had to restart orca with the
--replace
parm but this method sounds easier. this is a serious bug that has
been around for quite some time. Frankly, it keeps me from using TB
It also doesn't seem to matter if I have messages open in a new
tab or
new window either.

Hi all,
Using orca from master, ubuntu 11.10 and thunderbird 10 beta, I
found
the following situation:

Sometime I can not scroll in a message using the arrows. I open the
message pressing the enter key, but when I try to move in the
message
using up and down, nothing happens. I can move using left and right
arrow.

The nice thing is that after I open orca's preferences for
thunderbird
and then press the ok button, I can move in the message using up and
down arrow again.

Thanks.
