[orca-list] Orca 3.2 [Ubuntu 11.10] fails to read messages marked as "read"

Does anyone have the experience of orca in Ubuntu 11.10 not reading email marked as “read”? For some strange reason, I do, and cannot get around it. Looks like I will have to keep all email marked as unread until the problem is fixed? This is with a gmail account using imap.
