Gnome shell has an apps panel. alt f1 to get to search area for apps
then cycle through the panels till you hear applications. NOt the
easiest way to use gnome 3 though. Honestly, gnome3 reminds me of
nothing so much as unity 2d.

Hi Hank,
Well, from what I've been given to understand Gnome Classic attempts
to get the look and feel of Gnome 2, but the packages appear to be
Gnome 3 libraries and apps. Gnome is current Gnome with using the
Gnome Shell which is totally different. Basically, the difference here
is that Gnome Classic has an apps menu, and Gnome Shell does not.
