Hi Albert,

i use unstable 64, and sound works with Pulse.

Speechd-up under the "pure" console and Orca.
Please note, my system is *not* a fresh install.

i used a script from Vinux (restorespeech) to install speechd-up, 
speech-dispatcher... uninstalled espeakup. set speech-dispatcher to 
speak german... and all is ok now.
