Re: [orca-list] extreme orca buggyness in 3.2

Well, this works perfectly long as orca doesn't crash, but when orca crashes it's almost like orca locks the keyboard completely. Anyone know why this is?

This isn't the same as the script in Vinux that resets speech-dispatcher
and Orca, but I made it myself for exactly that purpose. I'm attaching
it to this message. I saved my copy as ~/.reset, but you can call it
whatever you like. Once it's saved where you can find it and is
executable, e.g. chmod 755, go to system-tools -> system settings and
select keyboard from the hardware group. Then switch to the shortcuts
page and tab to the section that says "basic launchers." From there, go
all the way down to the bottom of the list, and you'll find "custom
shortcuts." Press "add-toolbutton" and add your reset script. Then find
it in the list of custom shortcuts, arrow to the shortcut, press enter
and then press the exact combination of keys you want to use to activate
it. From that point, you can just close the window with alt-f4, and the
next time you need to restart Orca and speech-dispatcher, you can press
the keyboard shortcut you set. If you have any questions or if you get
lost somewhere in this process, feel free to contact me off-list and
I'll be glad to help.
