I think at-spi should install already; especially if you install the
orca package from normal arch repositories or work with the orca-git
package from AUR. However, you also need to install (if not done
already) at-spi2-atk or something like that. Sorry, I'm not at my
home machine now so am having to guess at the name. At this time, we
aren't sure which package this atk thingy should be a dependency of.
In any case, it did not get installed by default when I updated all
the gnome packages several weeks ago and many of my problems cleared
up once this other package was installed. Michael Wapples told me
about on the list here so maybe he can clarify the name since I might
have it wrong.
You definitely did the right thing since gnome-shell is a complete
mess and is not usable by us right now.

Hi Steve,
Oh, Yes, I am using Arch.
I also was recommended to uninstall gnome-shell so I did it.
But when I checkout Orca git I also installed the missing dpendencies by
hand. I didn't use your script to download it, I did it myself.
But when I do that, should I also checkout at-spi? I suppose that orca-git
is enough, but was just wondering.
Many thanks,
Christian

Hi Christien,
I think you are using Arch? I need to fix the orca-git package in AUR
so it will pull from the gnome-e-0 branch. I don't know if you have
that taken care of in your git arrangements or not. You might be
using orca from master branch instead of the gnome-e-0. Let me upload
my new PKGBUILD for orca-git tonight and see if that helps any.

Hi all,
So I have just installed the latest git version of Orca but I am not
able to navigate that much in Gnome. When I press alt-f1 Orca says
something about top pannel and nothing happens when I press tab or any of
the arrow keys. If I then press alt+F2 to run a program I get the same and
if using the Orca reading keys I hear unknown several times and my
username and activities.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks for any help!
