Re: [orca-list] Using firefox/orca search on websites

In both Firefox 4 and Firefox 5, I do not hear any speech with either
the delete nor the backspace keys. I also notice that while typing in
echo word only, that I don't have anything echoed back. Well
actually, character key echo doesn't work either. These work properly
everywhere else but not in Firefox 4 and 5. I can arrow left and
right through the text box with speech fine though.

The delete key works as expected for me in Ff4. The backspace key
behaves as you describe though. Did you mean the backspace key and not
the delete key?

I had remported this before.
What happens is that when you press the delete key orca does not read
the deleted character in firefox 4.
Same is with address bar.
Has it been solved in the latest version of Orca?
Happy hacking.

I can only tell you how I generally do google searches. First off, I
get into the search box by pressing Ctrl+K and then just type what I
want to look for. When results come back, I use header navigation
liberally. The layout changes from time to time so it might vary as
to which heading level to look for. For most of my experience, level
2 will get me past the ad junk and then subsequent presses of the h
key will take me from result to result. Another thing I like to do is
set my results per page up to the maximum of 100. However, recent
changes to Google has made that nearly impossible now due to a11y
issues.

Hi.

What is the best way to use firefox/ or orca search on a website? I
have a lot of stuff to go through and need an easy way to find what
I am looking for.
