[orca-list] have another default desktop question

Hello for some strange reason when I replied to the earlier thread I 
started to ask a question I got a email saying that the moderator had to 
aprove the message.
I was wondering if I will need sighted assistance on switching to the 
gnome desktop?
orca doesn't speak at log on so am unsure if there is a way around this.
