[orca-list] FW: EXTERNAL: Re: Orca on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or CentOS)

Hello,

I am a newbie around these parts. I have orca running at home on Fedora 13. The brltty 4.3dev is working
with the orca using an old Alva 380 and Festival.

Here at work I am working with a beta release of RHEL 6. I have gotten it to talk but I am having fits
getting the brltty to see my focus 80. This is probably because I am an idiot.

Have Fun Play Hard

So I'm wondering if anyone has ever got a RHEL 5 or CentOS 5 install
working with Orca at all? If so got any tips? Conversely if anyone
knows reasons why it'll always be an issue please also holler and save
some of my time!

It will always be an issue because it'll always be behind Fedora. This
is only exaserbated because Orca and related development is ongoing.

You only get a RHEL release every few years. When released, it'll be
behind Fedora Orca by a version or so. Thereafter, it will continue to
drift further behind state of the art.

Thanks,
