I respect any distro's right to choose their direction, and certainly
Ubuntu has done the same.

What concerns me about Canonical's decision to go with Unity is that
they are requesting that any contributions to Unity development be given
the copyrights to Canonical. To say that this is a concern is an
undertatement for me, as people need to understand that if they wish to
contribute to accessibility and maintain freedom and copyrights, it
needs to be done directly through GNOME accessibility for which then
Ubuntu can "use" the software. But if you contribute to Unity for
accessibility instead, then your work becomes the property of Canonical.

The following views are my own, and do not represent the views of my employer, Canonical ltd.

I totally agree with the copyright assignment, and the fact we should be working with upstream more/using
GNOME shell. Work duplication is never good.

Regarding unity itself, we already have a plan o action to enable accessibility, including keyboard
navigation, and extra theming/colours for low vision users etc. Once the blueprint is complete, I will post a
link. I am fortunate enough to have te rest of the unity development team totally on board with this venture,
and they will be doing as much as they can to help me get this all working. I will be working on tying the
various pieces of unity to at-spi, whilst they will implement better keyboard navigation etc.
